Mike Brown | Kono Beverages CEO
Mike has spent the majority of his career in the wine industry, and before joining us he was the General Manager and Winemaker at Waimea Estates in Nelson. He has also been the Chair of the Tuatara Trust, working with Ngāti Koata on the kaitiaki of the tuatara. Mike is married to Tania and has two children, Lucy and Felix.
Bruce Taylor | Group Winemaker
With a degree in History and Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Wine Science, Bruce has travelled extensively throughout the world making wine. Working within the organisation since 2008, Bruce is Group Winemaker and responsible for all wines made within the Kono Beverages group.
Jessica Thomas | Marketing Manager
Born and raised in Blenheim, Jess completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology before heading overseas to London where she managed a Technical Recruitment firm for five years. Since May 2010 Jess has been Marketing Manager of Tohu Wines and Kono Beverages. Married to Tim and Mum to Austin and Genevieve.
Liz Barcas | Operations Manager
Liz has a long history in the hospitality industry and varied and extensive experience in administration. This includes managing a Tavern and owning a restaurant. Liz has moved to Marlborough from Auckland two years ago. She has one grown daughter.
Hugo McCallum | National Sales Manager
Of Te Ātiawa and Te Arawa heritage, Hugo was born and raised in Auckland. With a love of working for his wider family and the culture of the organisation, Hugo has been with the organisation for six years, holding the position of National Sales Manager for the past two. Husband to Maryanne and proud father to Tiare-Manea and Mereana.
Linda Holmes | Auckland Account Manager
Linda is a recent addition to the Kono Beverages team but has been within the industry for seven years. Living in Takapuna and mother to two teenagers, Linda enjoys sailing and travelling around New Zealand and abroad.
David Kinzett | Central North Island Account Manager
David has been in the hospitality industry since the age of 15, starting as an apprentice chef under Ray McVinnie. With a wide variety of work experience, from simple cafes to elaborate six star super lodges; David matches his love of food with his love of wine. David has been married to Wendy for 15 years and they have two children, Sam and Jessica.
Jonny Hiscox | Whenua Matua Vineyard Manager
Arriving to New Zealand from his native UK in 1993, Jonny has been involved in the viticulture industry since his arrival. In his role of Vineyard Manager he has been responsible for the establishment of a 33ha vineyard in an area previously covered in gorse. With a love of the outdoors, Jonny and his New Zealand partner reside in Whakapuaka with their daughter Hani.
Mondo Kopua | Marlborough Vineyards Manager
Of Māori, English, Welsh and Irish descent, Mondo has a love of the outdoors which he shares with his wife and two young sons. Passionate about values driven relationships and modes of working, Mondo sets out to ensure that his staff and his vineyard are a positivie influence and reflection of the organisation.
